How to clean a PNG

  1. Drop your PNG files above.
  2. Open See what was found to read the text fields and other data stored in each file.
  3. Download the cleaned copies. Transparency and colors are kept as they were.

Some AI image tools save the prompt and settings as text inside the PNG. Removing that data hides how the image was made. It does not change any rule a platform may have about labeling AI-generated content.

Questions

Why does my PNG contain text?

PNG files can store text fields. Image editors, screenshot tools and some AI image generators use them to save notes such as the software name or the settings used.

Does it keep transparency?

Yes. Only the metadata chunks are removed. The pixels, transparency and color information are kept.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs on your device, and the tool does not download any extra files to process your photos.

Does removing metadata reduce image quality?

No. The tool removes the metadata blocks from the file without re-compressing the image, so the pixels stay exactly the same.

Why keep the photo rotation?

Phones often store a photo sideways and use a rotation tag to display it upright. If you remove that tag, the photo may appear rotated. The rotation tag holds no personal information, so keeping it is safe. You can turn it off.

Does it remove the data from the original file?

No. Your original file is not changed. You download a new, cleaned copy.

Which files can it clean?

JPG, PNG and WebP. Other formats, like HEIC from iPhones, are not supported yet. Convert them to JPG first.
